To receive notifications about your sales, you need to create an application in Mercado Pago. This application will be used to connect our system with your Mercado Pago account, allowing you to create payment links and plans through this connection and receive notifications about payments and subscriptions in our system.
Creating a Mercado Pago application
To create the application, you need to access the Mercado Pago dashboard using your Mercado Pago account credentials. Once logged in, locate the “Settings” section in the sidebar, and then go to the “Credentials” section on the right side of the screen, as shown in the following image:
In this section, you must fill in the requested information, including the name of the application (you can use your business name or any name to identify it) and specify the Mercado Pago solution you will be using. You can input the values as shown in the image.
Once the information is entered, click on “Create application.” Although the application is now created, you will need to activate the credentials by clicking on the “Activate credentials” button.
To activate the credentials, Mercado Pago requires you to specify your business industry. You can choose from the available options the category that best applies, or select the “Other” option. A website URL is also requested but is completely optional.
Once the credentials are activated, you will be able to copy the “Access Token” value, highlighted in red in the following image.
Creating a connection for your application
The only information required to configure the connection is the country of your Mercado Pago account and the Access Token for your Mercado Pago application. Once created, you will see the connection listed as follows:
Obtaining Access Token
To obtain the “Access Token” required to create the connection, navigate to the “Production Credentials” section in the left sidebar of the Mercado Pago application panel and copy the value corresponding to the Access Token.
